Nancy
Riley Oakley |
Ms Nancy Riley Oakley
received a BA Degree from University of North Carolina and a Masters
of Arts in Education from Wake Forest University. She has 30 years
of teaching experience at the Elementary, Middle, and High School
levels in Science and Mathematics Education. The last five years
in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, she facilitated
a National Science Foundation Grant to increase achievement and
number of students in higher level math and science classes. Ms.
Oakley also participated in the development and implementation of
National Science Foundation Grant in cooperation with the Wake Forest
University Medical School to become one of ten National Centers
for Educational Research, Teaching, and Learning (CERTL).
After retiring from the
North Carolina Educational system, she taught as a visiting Professor
in the Graduate School at Wake Forest University and is the Co-founder
and Principal owner of The Kenzie Corporation, Integrated Science
Educational Materials (Pre-Kindergarten- Fifth Grade.)

conducted in conjunction with the Wake Forest University Medical

Selection Committee
Ms Oakley has served
as a Consultant and Instructor for the National School Improvement
Project, the North Carolina Initial Licensure Academy, and the Problem
Based Learning Center for Excellence, Research, Teaching and Learning
at Wake Forest University Medical School. She has presented at numerous
national conventions of the National Science Teachers Association,
National Association of Science, Research and Teaching and ASCD.
Presently, Ms Oakley
is consulting with the Comer School Development Programs at Yale
University, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center School
Partnership, and assisting Dr. Squires with the planning and implementation
of the Balanced Curriculum K-12 English/Language Arts, Mathematics,
Science, and Social Studies Projects in the Pontiac, Michigan School
District, Parkland High School, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and
Hertford County School District, North Carolina.
