Lucille McEachern, Ph.D. |
Lucille McEachern is
an associate professor at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford,
Connecticut. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate teacher
certification programs for the Child Study/Education/ Special Education
Department. Prior to her appointment in 1989 at Saint Joseph College,
Dr. McEachern served as a classroom teacher in New York and Massachusetts
at the elementary and middle school levels and as an administrator
of special education for a regional school district. She later became
a curriculum and staff developer for two urban school districts
in Connecticut. She also served as a visiting associate professor
and lecturer for the Educational Studies Program at Wesleyan University.
Since 1966 when she began her career in education, she has brought
new ideas and a positive approach to her work with students, teachers
and administrators.
Dr. McEachern's professional
contributions include published articles and national presentations
related to planning and integrating the curriculum for mathematics,
science and social studies at the elementary school level. She has
assisted David Squires with his balanced curriculum process for
mathematics in grades kindergarten through eight in Community School
District 17, Brooklyn, New York. The aligned and balanced curriculum
framework is the basis for her ongoing assistance to public schools.
